Haaland Wait Rodri And Foden Back In Training While Ake Out Pep

Haaland wait, Rodri and Foden back in training while Ake out – Pep

Manchester City are still waiting to discover the extent of Erling Haaland's latest injury, with Pep Guardiola revealing the striker missed training on Thursday through illness.

The Norwegian's absence is a blow to City, who have a crucial Premier League clash with Arsenal on Wednesday and then face Leicester in the FA Cup quarter-finals next weekend.

Haaland has been in superb form for City this season, scoring 31 goals in all competitions, but he hobbled off in the first half of their 3-1 win over Aston Villa on Sunday with what looked like a thigh injury.

Guardiola said on Friday that Haaland had undergone tests but they were still awaiting the results.

"Erling is not training today," Guardiola said. "He's not feeling good. He had a little bit of a fever so we'll see tomorrow."

Rodri and Foden, who both missed the Villa game with knocks, trained on Thursday and Guardiola said they could be available for the Arsenal match.

"They trained today and we'll see tomorrow if they're feeling good," Guardiola said.

Ake, however, is still out with a muscular problem and Guardiola said he would not be ready for the Arsenal game.

"Nathan is not available for tomorrow," Guardiola said.

Guardiola also confirmed that John Stones will be out for "a while" with a hamstring injury.

The City boss said he was pleased with his team's performance against Villa, despite Haaland's absence.

"We played really well, especially in the second half," Guardiola said. "We controlled the game and created a lot of chances.

"We're happy with the win and now we have to focus on Arsenal."
