Thunder Trade Josh Giddey to Bulls
Former Rookie of the Year Traded
Deal Sends Giddey to Chicago
The Oklahoma City Thunder have traded 21-year-old guard Josh Giddey to the Chicago Bulls in exchange for a package of players and draft picks.
Giddey, a 6-foot-8 point-forward from Australia, was drafted by the Thunder with the sixth overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft.
In his first season with the Thunder, Giddey averaged 12.5 points, 7.8 rebounds and 6.4 assists per game. He was named the NBA Rookie of the Year.
However, Giddey's play suffered this season, and he was constantly booed on the road.
The trade to Chicago gives Giddey a fresh start with a team that is in need of a point guard.
The Thunder, meanwhile, get a package of young players and draft picks that they can use to build for the future.
The trade is a win-win for both teams, and it will be interesting to see how Giddey performs in Chicago.
