WEB City secured a place in the Champions League final with a breath-taking 4-0 victory over current holders Real Madrid. The emphatic win at the Etihad Stadium sees Manchester City reach the final for the second time in three years.
Pep Guardiola's side produced a dominant performance, controlling the game from start to finish. Real Madrid, who were seeking a record-extending 14th title, were unable to handle City's relentless attack.
Silva Doubles City's Lead
City took the lead in the 37th minute through Bernardo Silva. The Portuguese midfielder pounced on a loose ball just outside the area and fired a low shot into the bottom corner.
City doubled their advantage just before half-time. Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois was unable to hold onto a shot from Phil Foden, and Silva was on hand to tap in the rebound.
The second half followed a similar pattern, with City continuing to dominate possession and create chances. Real Madrid rarely threatened the City goal, and the home side eased through to the final.
Manchester City will now face either Liverpool or Villarreal in the Champions League final on May 28th. The match will be played at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey.
