China's Annual National Public Servant Exams Draw Record Number of Candidates

Over 142 Million People Take Unified Written Exam

Beijing, China

China's annual national public servant exams kicked off on Sunday, attracting a record number of candidates. More than 142 million people sat for the unified written exam, the highest number in the history of the examination. The exams are highly competitive, with only a small percentage of candidates ultimately being offered positions in the government.

The large number of applicants reflects the growing popularity of government jobs in China. Public service is seen as a stable and prestigious career path, offering job security and opportunities for advancement. In recent years, the government has also made efforts to make the public servant exams more accessible to candidates from all backgrounds.

The exams are divided into two stages: a written exam and an interview. The written exam covers a wide range of topics, including Chinese language, politics, economics, and history. The interview stage is used to assess candidates' communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and overall suitability for a career in public service.

The results of the exams are expected to be released in late March. Candidates who pass the exams will be eligible for interviews, which will be held in April and May. The final selection of candidates will be made by the end of June.
