The possibility of a direct military confrontation between Iran and Israel has brought renewed attention to Iran's armed forces.
U.S. President Joe Biden told reporters at the White House on Friday that he expects Iran to attack Israel "sooner rather than later."
"I don't want to get into sensitive information, but my expectation is that they will attack," Biden said.
Israeli officials are bracing for a worst-case scenario that U.S. officials believe could materialize within hours.
Iran believes that Israel and the U.S. introduced the Stuxnet computer virus in the early 2000s to target the centrifuges enriching uranium for Iran's nuclear program.
The commander in charge of U.S. military forces in the Middle East is expected to travel to Israel on Thursday to coordinate preparations for a possible attack by Iran and its proxies.
